After finishing the regular season 11-1 at the top of the sectional table of 37 teams we entered the championships with high hopes. The sectionals consisted of two flights of four teams in each, with Orange Park, the second strongest team in the league, in our flight. To win we had to beat them. In our first match at 8:30 a.m. monday morning we faced Orange Park and lost 2-1. That was a blow. We won our next two matches finishing second in the flight and Orange Park went on to win the final.

Our team roster included: Geoff Ainscow (Captain), Allen Conrad (Treasurer), Bill Gardella, Bill Hansen, Wally Izumi, Tad Kawamoto, George Koo, George Kurtz, David Liu (co-captain), Dan Mock, Paul Terradista, Ron Wong.
