Congratulations to the 2007 8.0 FMX team captained by Sue Chu for making the Sectional playoffs after a first place finish in league play and by winning two rounds of local playoffs!

The FMX sectionals were held Oct 5,6,7 in the beautiful wine country town of Napa and were hosted by the Napa Valley Tennis Association at the Vintage High School courts.

The format was two flights of Round Robin with the RR winners in the Sunday final.

The weather was beautiful and sunny until 15 minutes into the first round of Friday play when rain showers hit. Play was postponed and resumed twice. Our team fought hard and it came down to a close 10-point tiebreaker loss to go
down 1-2.

On Saturday, the clouds were all gone and the weather was sunny again. We had two rounds to complete and we won the first round by a score of 2-1 with a very close 10-point tiebreaker win.

We were not as fortunate in the second round and lost by a score of 0-3 to a very strong and undefeated Millbrae team.

Twin Arbors from the Stockton area swept Millbrae in the Sunday finals.

We all had fun, had a great team spirit, played some good tennis and met a lot of very nice tennis people.

Congratulations to the 2007 Sunnyvale FMX team members: Sue Chu, Show Chu, Randy Chen-Tse, Bob Danisch, Martha Norberg, Carl & Georgia Lynch, Patty & Louie Ramirez, Ellie Ambrocio & Greg Tiburcio, Remundo Lazaga and Kim Motzney.
