Hello captains,
First I want to congratulate you in taking on a team for the fall leagues,
some of you perhaps overdoing it (our dear Linda Chen will drive 3
teams!!!).
One thing I want to share before anything else: many of you make us proud!
We sometimes get feedback, even from non-STC captains who want us to know
that a special captain went overboard being nice,
was
accommodating and was just a great person to deal with and play against.
Your club board would like to start a process where we will acknowledge our
best ladies’ and men’s captains each year (or more than one each,
or perhaps every season).
Anyway, we need to start with something,
so starting this Fall season, please drop us an email (any of us) about another STC captain
that you consider to be a great captain (you define and explain what's great about that person).
We'll figure out a way to acknowledge that person if we get enough feedback
(your ideas about what we can do are of course as always very welcome).
Now, back to the fall leagues: we have 25 teams (none with Mango as home).
All registered their teams as club sponsored, except Robert Chiang's and
Maureen Mikami.
What we need from you, as always:
1. Please confirm that your team will be (or not) club-sponsored.
If you don't tell us, we will assume that however you registered your team
is right, and that's fine.
2. We need your top 3 choices for home matches.
Please remember that what's available at Las Palmas is:
Mondays to Fridays: 6PM or 8PM
Saturdays: 1PM or 3PM.
Sundays: 9AM, 11AM, 1PM & 3PM.
A Mango, the same, except that Saturday mornings is OK,
so Saturdays 9AM
and 11AM are available.
You only have to tell me your preferences for Las Palmas, as I will assume
that you want the same time slots at Mango,
except that you could very well pick a Saturday morning at Mango as one of
your choices.
Please remember that in September to November, the mixed and senior leagues
will overlap with the combo league,
so it is likely that we will have some days fully booked so I will have to
go to your other choices (I try very hard to give you your first choices).
Anyway, my point is that if you do not give me other choices, or if your
choices are all on the same day, I will have to make up choices for you.
Some of you already sent me the requested information, so you are OK.
For
the others please don't wait till the last minute.
Have a great fall season, and I hope to see you all (and your players) at
the annual club picnic and morning social tennis.
Sincerely
Jean, Sunnyvale Tennis Club, President (& USTA Scheduler)
