We lost one of the most colorful and charismatic members of our local tennis community. John Alexandro, known to many as Dr. Touch, passed away on Monday March 31, 2008 due to developing pneumonia after successfully fighting cancer.

The funeral service will be held on Friday April 11th at 11:00am at the First Congregational Church of San José located at 1980 Hamilton Avenue in San José (corner of Leigh and Hamilton); phone 408-377-7121. There will be a reception in Fellowship Hall at the church following the service.
Visitation is on Thursday, April 10 between 3:00pm and 9:00pm at Chapel of Flowers located at 900 South 2nd Street in San José; phone 408-294-9663. No service will be performed at Chapel of Flowers.
Donations can be made in John's memory to the National Brain Tumor Foundation, 22 Battery St., Suite 612, San Francisco, CA 94111-5520. If you prefer to send flowers for his funeral service, you can send them to Chapel of Flowers; check with them to see the latest time needed to get flowers to the church. Also the church will be open the morning of the funeral service.
