Bea Greene was invited by Dodo Cheney (who is in the Tennis Hall of Fame) to be her partner
in the women’s 90 Doubles in the USTA National Hard Court Championships at The La Jolla
Beach & Tennis Club.
Bea took this very seriously, took a couple lessons from Casey at L.P and also got several
friends to practice with her. Bea was worried about her stamina, but played 4 days in a row &
was just fine! Bea’s daughter, Sandra and I also enjoyed participating in our own flight. A
good time was had by all.
What impressed me the most about the Nationals was the wonderful camaraderie between all
the women.
When I am in my 90’s I hope I can be playing in national tournaments like Lil Ole Bea!
